Selkie 4,484 Posted March 25, 2014 It reminds me of a small, rural, one horse town type of train depot building. 1 Quote Link to comment
Juliana 67 Posted March 25, 2014 Selkie, I think you're right, this is probably a little train depot! I looked up the city where the fruit crate came from (Exeter, CA). It is still a one horse town today. This house doesn't match the Exeter train station, but it does look very similar to other rail depots in the San Joaquin Valley. A hip roof done in red Spanish tiles seems to be common in that region. Quote Link to comment
rackey 1,259 Posted March 25, 2014 At first I thought the little house was going to be an extension of the larger one. I think they look very cute together - like a big brother watching over a younger sibling. Maybe the smaller house can be an outside playhouse for the children living in the big house. 1 Quote Link to comment
Juliana 67 Posted March 26, 2014 Or it could be the privy for the 1800s Louisiana house! LOL Just kidding, I wouldn't desecrate the poor dear like that. Anyway, too many windows for a privy. You know what it does look like, though? A Pizza Hut that was remodeled into a Starbucks drive thru coffee shop down the street from my real life house. It still has the red tiled hip and white stucco sides. Ha! Quote Link to comment
