DollhouseStaining

Creamcheese

Since I first posted months ago on my Garfield build, I then began the long and tedious process of staining all of the Houseworks working windows and doors and the doors that I actually made. I had to work on this outdoors and it seemed like it took me months. Well, I guess it did!!!!! Then I discovered that I could make my own acrylic paint stain using 3 different colors to match the Minwax stain I had been using. I used this to finish up all the tiny window panes. I will be sure to remember that for future projects as it was nicer to work inside and not worry about toxic odors! I also ended up losing one windowpane so I had to make my own. I put a sticker on this particular window frame in case I ever do find the missing window. It may have gotten tossed by accident! Right now all the finished windows and doors are labeled and in plastic bags waiting installation.

When I started all of this I don't think I realized how time consuming this would be but I am sure glad that I finished! All the wood does look very rich and warm and I am very happy with the way it turned out. Thanks for your comments!
