Sorry... trying again... having problems posting today...

Taking a cue from Keli (iseecerulean) I used her idea and installed a fireplace under the stairs. I did this probably for the same reasons she did :) the chimney needed to so "somewhere" and the space under the stairs really isn't all that useable anyhow...

The fireplace is made with scrap wood, wallpaper "bricks"... some twigs from my yard in the firebox, a bit of crown molding for the mantel and some trim. I think it turned out ok..... especially since I decided to build this AFTER the stairs were installed... LOL.....

it needs a bit more trim I think... to hide that gap along the bottom of the staircase
