She was so pretty! I love the fun little look on her face, like she's having a great conversation. I wonder who she is talking to? I would have loved to have lived at this time period -- even with those giant skirts!

She may have been talking to her future husband in this picture. She wrote a poem about "The Telephone" and how it connected loved ones to each other. I've got the poem somewhere (she was a prolific writer, poet, songwriter). She was married 3 years after this was taken, but knew each other for years before that. He was gone a lot as a traveling evangelist.
