DR looking into LR

minikelli

First time for homemade wainscot from mat board. I don't have the chair rail or trim for the door installed as yet, but wanted a shot looking from the dining room into the living room. My goal with this house was to shoot for an old farmhouse look, that has been lived in through the ages. For myself at least, I remember there always being the "fancy" dining room for important meals at the old farmhouses I visited in my youth for family get togethers...

Chris, the wainscot was made using mat board -- what you would use to mat pictures with. Found out you can get bunches of it like 35 pieces that are 12in by 12 in for around $5-$6 at Hobby Lobby. I've really been having fun with it! :) In this case just made a template of the walls and cut panels to fit. Then glued the two separate layers on to the base, and spray painted.
