The outside of the box is covered with cotton fabric printed with historic bricks. The scale is a bit large for 1:12, but the box itself is pretty hefty, so it works. The upper section lifts up. The electrical connections and fan twirler (battery operated) are nicely hidden up there.

My husband told me that even though he knew what I was doing, he had to reach out to touch it to be sure I hadn't switched to egg carton bricks.
