The Beginning of the Library

wenlaine

So far I've made hundreds of books and obviously need to make hundreds more. Fortunately I enjoy making them. I have made quite a few of the shelving units to go into the library but far from finished. I'm using the scraps of the left over material from the house for the shelves.

Wendy, WOW, that looks so awesome! I love spending time at Barnes & Noble (a bookstore), but with a nice cozy chair, I think I'd much rather spend time in your shop! It's just amazing!

Thanks Teresa, I plan on putting in a round table with books and such on it and the window seat will be cushioned with a comfy chair or two as well. The kitchen area is going to be a children's reading room, I will have a washroom upstairs and in the large room more book shelves and maybe a couple of chairs as well there for reading. That's the plan but you know how plans go, at least mine usually change a half a dozen times before I'm done.

Wendy, I love your library. The velcro roof looks so nice, thanks for the tip. The books look good to, are they all made from clay?

Hi Peggi, you've got to try the Velcro sometime, it fabulous stuff. Yes, I've been making books all week and still have lots more to do yet before I'm finished.

Thanks.

The library is great - what a good idea :)

Would you mind sharing how you made the books, using clay, please?

I'd like to have a go; they look superb.

Wow, I would so love to curl up on one of your chairs and read to my hearts content, it is fabulous, and I love the carpet, it actually looks like little footprints on it where the little people have been walking, I love it...

Cheers Deb.
