debbie, the doors are scale 2 inches thick or .166 of a real inch. i use calipers for everything i cut. the door sides are one piece with a slot cut in the edge the inner panel slides into. near everything has a slot cut in it for inner panels. the slot is .09 inch....ron

no I personally have never heard them before,

sounds like a silly question but how do you cut the slot itself? What method

debora, the slot is cut with a jig i made to fit the 4 inch table saw. i make jig's for a lot of part's. calipers are a measuring tool, mostly used by machinists and tool makers. they read in the 1,000 and 10,000 or 100,000 of a inch. i dont go that far, i get everything within 100 of a inch. i get calipers off ebay for about 20.00. mine have a dial that reads 1 inch in 100 parts. the calipers are made by general tool's. if i want a board to scale 1 inch or 1/12 of a real inch. i divide 100 by 12 part's, that gives me the correct measurement which is .083 or just 8 on the dial. 2 inch will be .166. i cut that to 17 on the dial. the number to use is .083 for every inch you want. if you were here i could show you the calipers..let's put a picture of them on here. it's in my gallery. anybody have questions i'll be here...ron

Very good I saw the pictures of the Calipers and like what you said they mean the difference between your miniatures ''looking right'' to ''being right'' they accomplish the feat of accuracy. Thanks for introducing them to us [ me ]
