Ok it needs to be thicker, but its going to be fabulous, dont you think? I originally thought I would put this above a fireplace, but my husband suggested it would great above the doors in the chateau. It adds height it could be above all the door molding with its own frame or part of the door like the next picture. What fun!!! :p

Debora this molding is beautiful. Check out mines on the drawing room. I think they would be fit perfectly in your French chateau.
