Getting Started

It won't do me any good at all to affix the walls if I'm not sure the pieces I want will fit in there correctly. I've had this Windsor bench forever - planning on being used on a front porch. I normally do not like walnut woods but REALLY don't like pine. I decided walnut was more in keeping with the folksy theme and pulled all I could. I did buy the fireplace (at least it was 20% off) because I wanted one with shelves since there's no other room in here for trinkets.

i'm looking into the foamcore...it would mean i could build and cut anything i wanted instead of being restricted by huge shipping costs for a kit or being unable to cut doorways and window holes due to the lack of tools :D this is looking fabulous!

WOW, i love that with the foam you can build whatever you please! My first house is the Orchid but I am def. thinking (since I pretty much screwed up following the instructions on this house, lol) that i'll use the foam for my next house!

I love using foam core...

1. You can build what you want in the size you want.

2. You can build as big as you want because it doesn't weigh anything.

3. Round wire electrical is a snap because it's so easy to score the foam and press the wire into it.

4. Once siding and flooring and papers are in, its darn near as sturdy as any other house and less likely to break if dropped.

5. You can buy the foam when it goes half price and only pay $1 a sheet.

6. And for me, I especially like it because I get soooo bored soooo easily. If I get tired of playing with a foam core house, I don't feel guilty tearing it apart and starting over.
