I did a fair amount of bashing on this kit, which was very easy to do-- added windows, added bay, added 1 inch height, revised roofline. The "shingles" are from all those scraps that one is left with after one punches out house pieces-- I had accumulated quite a collection and thought this would be a great way to use them up! As for the exterior finish, I feel like I am plagiarizing myself from last year's Spring Fling, but I have so much egg carton that I have to keep thinking of ways to use it!

One of the new things I tried was the interior tile floor-- I cut out squares of balsa, painted them separately, and referred to a bears-claw quilt pattern to place them. In basswood I think it would be quite sturdy and turn out very well; I am thinking of trying something like this in the Willowcrest.

You can see that I have used my 1/4" plywood base again-- after such good experience with it for the Westville, I am hooked!

I had a great time fiddling around with this year's SF build-- thanks for looking!

Great exterior finish on the walls, looks really cottagey - excellent. I am really impressed by the skylight - wonderful idea.
