The only function for that shelf by the sink is to cover the wire from the porch light! (I got a bit happy with the siding and forgot to add it in time...)
I had a tough time figuring out what to do with the paneling but finally decided on putting flower prints (which I found at various online watercolor art sites) in the spaces where there isn't supposed to be an appliance.
