I sanded the chimney and primed it and sanded the chimney pots. I spread spackling compound (well, of course!) on the chimney & carved "stones" to match the tower.

I spread a thin coat of spackle over each chimeny pot and when it was dry I painted them with raw siena, which to me really looks like terra cotta.
