I "washed" the bricks with a brushload of white paint in half a small yogurt cup of water. I added a 1/4" dollop if black paint from the tube to make it gray and another squeeze of water to calm the red mahogany shingles. I was trying for a "William Morris" effect with this kit; the porch really doesn't "go" with that, but it goes with the house. I really don't like the roof peak trim, I really don't, but the tower & kitchen bay roofs needed it. I didn't use all the little bracket pieces under the tower roof eaves, either.

It looks crooked because I turned the camera to take the picture to get it lengthwise, and when I resized it to copy I had to rotate it clockwise to make it vertical again :)
