This version has a larger dormer on the top floor and balustrade on the first floor. I rejected it because I thought the railing was too much. Better dormer though? I appreciate hearing all opinions!

I do like this bigger - more ornate dormer window best.  On the lower level  - I like the railing by the main door.  I agree that the railings on the front of the double arches is distracting from the architecture.  I'd stick with the just the little side railing there as well.    This house is so unusual and interesting.

Thank you for that, I will go with the larger dormer! "Distracting from the architecture" is exactly why I got rid of those ground floor railings. It's also why I originally switched to a smaller dormer. I was seeing "too much" and I guess I went too far trying to lessen the distractions! I also agree with you re: the side railing on the front porch. It does look better.
