Here you can see the wall map, with “pins” showing the places my imaginary inhabitants have been.   They clearly like to travel. The typewriter and phone are painted metal minis. The page in the typewriter has the full first line of Bulwer-Lytton’s iconic work, “It was a dark and stormy night. . . .”  I definitely need more in this room.  I decided to make a coffee table that looks like this.  I was going to put the television in this room as well, but it blocked my desk, and I really want that to be visible.

Weirdly, about a week ago I was thinking about doing this exact kind of map in mini, but I was going to pin all the places I'd been.. lol... And now you've gone and made one! Fantastic!

I think the idea came to me when I looked at Brae's Road Atlas. Anyway, I love your version. It just makes me want to do it more. :D

What did you use for pins?.. that's what had me stumped and I'm working in 1:12!

Microbeads.  I got a mixed bag of them from Etsy, and they come in handy for lots of things.  They're probably a little large for half-scale, but I just think of them as those thumb tacks with the big ball heads.  :)  

I do love maps like that. My grandparents had a big one in their basement, to keep track of where they'd been.  I'd love to see yours.
