First floor lights. The two ceiling fixtures went in easily. (The pendant light will be going over a small dining table that I have yet to build.) The lamps, however, have been a royal pain. I was trying to use the Cir-kit mini outlets. I changed out the plug on the lamp, no problem. The outlet worked when I touched the spikes in the outlet to the tape wire. However, once I got the outlet in, it stopped working. This happened three times (a fourth if you consider I tried one more time in the upstairs bedroom). I kept trying different solutions. Three hours (!) and many, many magic words later, I finally gave up and hard-wired the lamp in. There will just be a little notch in the baseboard to let the wire through. It didn’t help that I was working in the back corner and practically had to stand on my head to get back in there and see what I was doing. Because the second floor goes on before the left wall, I couldn’t do it before putting the floor on. In retrospect, I should have run the tape to the front of the living room, but I honestly didn’t expect the outlet to be that much of a hassle.
