The 3rd floor corridor, an extension of the tower to add extra rooms in this area, this Fairfield has a total of 12 separate indoor areas (+ porch and balcony). It's a pretty 'big' house!

I still don't know what to do with this area thou, I'm trying not to 'repeat' elements and nake every room diferent... initially planned as a music room, but later I decided to move the piano to a diferent area... maybe I'm starting to run out of ideas. Furniture here is temporary until I decide, I'm thinking perhaps a desk under the painting, a corner display, some bric-à-brac, hmm... I guess it will come to me eventually.

What about a reading nook. You could do a build in bookcase (with a ladder to the top shelves) along the solid wall behind the staircase and then some kind of built in bench seating with pinned upholstery & cushions around the corner with the two round/oval windows. Nice and cosy.

Of course, I don't have to build all this so... I can let my imagination run.. :D

That is a very nice idea, the only problem is the ceiling height :( I was building some shelves last night and tried one in this area... it would have to be a very short shelf, and would probably make the room look smaller. But it's something to keep in mind, I also like the idea of the bench under the windows, sounds very cozy indeed :)

mmm.. that is a problem... perhaps you could do a very slim one to give the illusion of a build in. and you could fill it with little fake half books.. lol.... it might fix the overpowering the room problem but alas, it will not fix your ceiling height problem.

Yes.  I noticed that the tower has the lowest ceiling height of any room in the Fairfield.  I have been pondering this.  I liked Samantha's idea of a book corner, even a faked one. The space is too nicely decorated for storage or utility.  (You know how fond I am of trunks!)  What about a craft corner or gift-wrapping station?

Ye if I could change one thing in this kit would be the ceiling height on the 2nd and 3rd floors, the 1st floor feels so nice with that extra space! The tower I guess was meant to be closed but it could really have a tiny extra space.

I was looking at a library from Mulvany and Rogers for inspiration and tried a draft of 'fake built in shelves', but I don't think I have enough depth to pull it off convincingly :/ Printed papper instead of 'books' also stood out too much laying flat on the wall. A craft corner would be nice too, or even a gallery with some displays, hmmm I guess I'll start with a table and a shelf/display and see were it goes.
