pollock's stove.jpg

stickyfingers

The stove finally got glued up, and I added some patina. I think I went too far, and will go back towards black, but like the overall age of the piece. The weekend plan is to install the windows, door, and start adding the beams and studs to the interior. Still chipping away at the shingles, and I need to thin the stain a bit. I did some work on accessories on my last days off, working on every little bit as I go.

No, actually I think you are ok.  This picture seriously looks like the woodstove in my dad's tobacco barn stripping room -where the tobacco leaves are stripped from the stalks and packed into bales.  This took place in January/February thus the need of a stove!  I would maybe add a bit of a rust color here and there.... but overall it looks great.  :)

Thanks so much! I'm at the stage where a lot of things are half-done, and I feel like I need to wait until more is closer to finished before I go back and tweak anything. Overall, it's going in the direction I have in my head.  Lots of very cool accessories are in the works, too.
