One of my husband's few contributions to my hobby was the plastic backing on the house. It is held on by velcro. The kitties love to play Alice in Wonderland in the house. This is how we keep them out. I need a better picture. With all the people fallen over, it looks like a massacre took place.

give your hubby a gold star for the plexiglass idea! i've got cats that think my dollhouse was built just for them and they've done so much damage than i had to pack the house up. i'll have to go hunt down some plexi so i can get back to building!
