Creamcheese

I used reddish brown shingle dye to stain 4000 individual roof shingles.  This shows the bags still waiting to be dyed and the first 1000 that are drying.  If you ever attempt this be sure to wear protective gloves and have many layers of newspaper and plastic down on your countertop.   I love how the color turned out as it looks almost like a warm copper color with many variations just as real wood shake roofs look.   The Garfield is supposed to take 4000 shingles!   It will be a labor of love!

Thanks!   It does seem like a lot of shingles!   I'll have to update my album once I finish glueing them on to see if I use them all!

I did not use all 4000 individual shingles so I have some extras that I will eventually use on my Spring Fling 2012 sunroom.   I think I ended up using over 3000 (3 bags plus a little extra) on my Garfield.
