I see what you mean about the wood grain texture. I do like the colors and the pattern.

I like the texture & color. Says "slate" to me, not wood. What if you coat it with a clear matte finish?

I agree with Kathie, the matte finish might solve the whole problem.  Excellent work by the way....

Thanks for the comments. I applied a matte varnish before cutting the tiles into individual pieces, so I'm confused as to why the floor is so shiny. I'll set the floor aside and continue with something else.
