The counters are faux painted basswood, I glued a piece of basswood veneer on each piece first to create a beveled look, before faux painting. I found a tutorial on the web for the faux technique, I referenced it earlier. I look it up again. It was a bit of a challenge to keep a consistent look for so many pieces, but the tutorial was very helpful. It involves an acrylic base coat topped with several coats of glazes, some tinted with water colors, which really gives it so much more depth. There are probably five or six coats of glaze involved. It took about two days, due to drying time between coats, but very worth it.

Debora, I love your JP Morgan house! And have really enjoyed your commentary. You are doing tremendous work on it! The Tiffany lamps you found! The furniture you are creating. Great stuff!
