Wishywash
Hi everyone! I live in Europe and needless to say, clapboard siding isn't very well known here, especially as far as dollhouses are concerned. So when I build Greenleaf kits, I have to plan a big budget for the siding (I tend to think that a DH without siding is incomplete), as I have to import a huge amount of milled planks everytime. So, what was wondering is, would it be wrong if I used thick, 1-2 mm cardboard strips instead of real wood? Please tell me what you think, if you've tried it before, if you think it'd look good or not, if you've had bad/good experience using cardboard in DH decoration... Keep me posted, Nico. LPCullen
Wishywash, I don't know about siding, but the shingles for the roofs on the HO scale houses are cardboard, and it works fine with that. I have painted them with no problem.
madtex1967
Nico! Yes, a heavy cardboard will work! I kit-bashed a Pierce, using cardstock as siding and for fishscale shingles for siding. It worked really well. I used a latex paint without any problems of warpage. Best of luck, and keep us posted on the progress! Matt
