Mail order sources for Canadians??

Hi all, I am fairly new to this site and to dollhouse building. I was wondering if anyone knew of any mail order sources that don't charge obscene shipping charges to Canada? I was a little disappointed when I tried to order a $7.00 bag of tiles (another website) and they quoted me $63 US to ship to Canada, another wanted $54.00 to ship a magazine priced at $5.95...I have been to the Little Dollhouse Company here in Ontario, but it is a little awkward to get to. Ebay has been very good to me too but I was just wondered if there were any other sources comparable to this wonderful site?! Thanks all! - Max

OMG, those shipping charges are outrageous! No one could afford that!

I have the latest issues of my mini mags here with me. I did find these Canadian web sites:

http://www.lynnsminiatures.com/

http://www.shoestringminis.com/

http://www.miniland.ca/

http://www.grandpasdollhouse.com/

http://www.miniature.ca/

http://www.outoftheordinary.on.ca/

Hope these help!

Try "The Little Dollhouse Company" in Toronto.

I just received a shipment from them for almost nothing in Quebec, let alone they are very close to you as well to pay a visit. Whatever they don't have in stock, I'm sure they'll get it for you too.

Oops there is also Victoria Miniland in BC. Since you are buying out of province you don't have to pay the provincial sales tax. So you save there and then just have to pay the shipping which also is not that much. Depends on the weight of the package.

The Little Dollhouse Company also does mail orders. I've ordered from them a number of times and their shipping is quite reasonable. Maria Fowler will take your order by phone or through her website.

I've found that some U.S. sellers are very generous with cutting their mailing costs for Canadians as they realize we're also faced with customs duty tax at our end.

Just last week a U.S. supplier shipped me a 1/2 scale built dollhouse for $0. I didn't ask for this deal, she just shipped it free of charge because she said I was a good customer. I've found most miniature sellers are quite reasonable in their shipping charges to Canada.

I am in Calgary & we are a young family so trust me when I say I cant afford shipping the best deal I have found is Country Classic Miniatures in Ontario. I ordered $114 worth of stuff and only paid $14 shipping which isnt bad. The lady that owns the store is named Cathy & is very helpfull & you pay actual shipping costs by weight, & the selection is GREAT. Hope this helps.

Cassandra in Calgary(aka booeybooey)
