firef2005
Hey all, just wondering what the size would be in 1:12 scale for a 2"x4" board? I can convert fee easily enough, but once you throw inches in there, I'm stumped. I need to put exposed 2x4's in my new project, but don't know what size to make them. Thanks! Gonzo
If you want to stick to standard measurements, you would be looking at 5/32" by 11/32" It is not exact, but it is within a couple of hundredths of an inch. Some people, to keep the measurements manageable, would use 1/8" by 3/8"
morgansmith
I find that often something scaled down exactly does not look right. Your local craft store should have all kinds of different sizes of wood. If you just look at it you can see what might simply look right. My husband often stops at the craft store for me. We refer to the mini wood as 2 x 4's, 4 x 4's etc. We don't call it 1/8 x 1/4. If you can get the exact size, try it. If not, try what looks right. havanaholly
Invest in a clear plastic printer's ruler that has a pica scale. In 1:12 scale 2"=1/6", which just so happens to be 1 pica; so your 2" X 4" board would be 1 pica X 2 picas.
