It was a great thrill when the Albany area got a Michael's and a Joann Etc., but neither really compared to A.C. Moore. (Aha! That's why your location sounds familiar. We did a big drive around Long Island back in 2001 or 2002. Though I don't remember much specific other than the Big Duck.
