AllThingsMini
I just got the first three of my six reserved copies of Scale Cabinetmaker books...19th c. Furniture, Jacobean/William and Mary Furniture, and Overstuffed Furniture!! There are so many wonderful projects in them that my head is swimming with more ideas than it can handle. I can't wait to start making some of them!

AllThingsMini
Most of the pieces in these books will be used in the castle I want to build later, but I'll probably try to squeeze in a few in my Tudor and Gothic Villa as well. It's so much fun to make furniture. I have also just ordered some more of the books...French, 1/2 scale, Queen Anne, and Turn of the Century Oak furniture. Eventually, I'll have the whole collection. But I thought I'd spoil myself and spend DH's overtime $$ that he got on his check!

LisaN
I did the same thing, Marie. Spoiled myself and bought Bluette Meloney's video on faux finishing, and it is well worth it! Couldn't afford the dvd, and so I got the video so I can take it with me on vacation in the rv--we have a vcr in there. Go to www.MindstormProductions.com they sell videos, dvd's, on clays, furniture, dollmaking, you name it. Bluette is in the Master Miniaturists section. shutterbugkc
Ooooooo, I wish I could find books like that around here. We have a Hasting's here but they won't carry any dollhouse books - they are special order only. Please show us pictures when you get one of those projects started!
LisaN
DVD's and videos are really the way to go sometimes. I guess if you can't afford to take the class, the video or dvd is the next best thing, at least for me, since traveling to a show to take a class involves added expenses. Also, the best part is you can watch these in a hotel or in the car, rv, (we love to go camping) and it makes traveling that much more relaxing.
