IrishMist
Does anyone know if the Houseworks Street of Shops is open in the back? Or is the only acess through the plexiglass roofs? Thanks! Carol
Nameless1
I'm not 100% certain, but in this album, it sure looks like all the photography is being done through the roof opening. You can just barely see a back wall in some of the photos.
Minis On The Edge
Yes I have seen them open in the back at a shop. I fell in love with them and have the corner one myself (Just never built it yet).
IrishMist
Thanks! to both of you for the info. Guess what my 50% off at minis.com is going for? Carol
ilovecats
Hi, i've seen them open at the back but i think it was a modification the builder did. I have the street of shops myself (future project to work on) and dry fitted one of the shops, I don't think they do open at the back but it is a modification that i plan on doing. IrishMist
Thanks! for the added info. I was curious about the back opening because of display setup. I figured if the back opens, you'd want to be able to see it all the way around. Carol
LisaN
Carol, it is a modification on the builder's part, I own the bay window shop--Mr. Bannister's doll emporium. It is visible through the top, which is the access. I love these little shops. One tip when putting these together: do not let these kits sit about for any length of time, do your wiring, etc. and wallpaper, and decorating and get them together, they slide right together. Very easy. I had to drill holes in the window for the candles, (hubby has grand ideas of how to wire them!lol!) But they do fit together nicely and I imagine it would take little modifications to hinge them from the back so they open.
IrishMist
Hi Lisa, Thanks for the info. I ordered them with the 50% off coupon today, but they are back ordered. I'm glad to know for sure that there's a back panel included. Otherwise I'd feel like I needed to put them out in the middle of the room so you could walk all the way around them to oooh and aaahhhh.
