The old Heart Arbor is a very special place for Ann and Robert. They come here every year on their anniversary. When they started coming the trees where mere saplings. She has left her hat and a copy of the Iliad (that they will read to each other later) with their blanket while they walk in the woods to a nearby stream.

Ann has packed a basket with bread, cheese, wine and two glasses. Robert has slipped a surprise under the napkin for Ann to later. The woodland creatures are taking this quiet time around the Heart Arbor to collect nuts or nibble on a green leaf. A rabbit is hiding under the edge of the blanket watching a squirrel in the grass.
