I didn't realize it was going to be a gingerbread house! What color are you using for the background paint? And are you piping the trim!? Wow, so pretty!

Yes Im piping it. Im using two different colors, Nutmeg and Cinnamon I think one is Deco and one is Americana. Thank you, the porch is great for the frosting it looks so cute, but I have major anxiety about shipping this house.

Hmm. Shipping. What about building a box to fit. Maybe this is too much, but you could build the floor of the box with a lip to set the house base into. Use short screws from the underside to secure the box floor to the base, and have sides and top completely enclosing the house, screwed together. Then pack the shipping box into a bigger box with padding. Also PM Kellyannmo and Tracy to see how they do it.

use lots and lots and lots of packing peanuts and bubble wrap.... also those big air filled "bags" you get with packages sometimes.... I save everything.... I also have my office save all packing materials for me when we get shipments.... I completely line everything with the above mentioned materials so the house DOES NOT shift around in the box and is protected both top and bottom as well as the sides.... bubble wrap porch rails, fill the rooms with crumbled up packing paper, etc... it's a pain, but so far (knock on wood) every house I've shipped has made it safely ... even one to France.... I do worry about your piping though.... do you seal it when your done??? I would worry it would crack during shipping.... you can also take it to a local UPS store... they will pack it for you... they will charge you quiet a bit, but I had to do that with my Laurel/Primrose... no way I would pack that myself... they are usually very helpful even if you choose to pack it yourself .... <3

I'd like to know how you do end up packaging it for shipping. I was wondering about the piping as well.

One thing about it, my Mom is paying for the shipping and were both prepared for it to be expensive, so I was thinking I would have ups pack it...are they able to make boxes too if it doesn't fit in conventional ones? The method I use when I finish the piping and it dries makes it very sturdy, but obviously that's still a worry. Thanks for the tips ladies:)
