I like him raised up on the base. You could cover the bottom with wood strips if you don't like the metal.

I like the base, too. You could add an "engraved" plaque of some sort, too. Would make the base seem more cohesive maybe.

thanks for your thoughts they are greatly appreciated I actually like the base too... the only reason I was thinking of removing it was to make it feel more in scale. I wanted this in the great hall... and he just seems to big there.... this room has taller doors and windows so he fits in better visually.... it's hard to find scale amour tho For now he's gonna hang out on his base.... the plaque is a good idea
