I think the backsplash looks much less insane when you look at the whole room, as opposed to just the kitchen. That's what I'm telling myself, anyway. :o

I think it works well, Emily. I think the backsplash was installed when the house was built and a later owner added the ceiling border when she redecorated. She just didn't have it in the budget to replace the original tilework. :D
