Sand, Spackle, sand again

KathieB

Some of the trim pieces split during the stamping process. I sanded them gently to get the ragged bits off, being careful not to break off the surface splinters. Then I used Spackle to fill in the little splits. When it dried, I sanded again to smooth the surface. It was a little bit of work, but the result was very satisfying.

The nature of plywood is to be in layers that don't always work in harmony, as the grains run at right angles, so edges appear to be rough. This method smooths them beautifully.
