Drying Stucco on Turtle Cove

kellyannmo

I thought about clapboard siding, but again funds were an issue with this little house... so it got stucco instead..... it will be painted a pretty light blue though and will have paperclay trim.....

This looks great! The blue will be pretty. :)

How did you do this texture? I've been trying to find a texture I like, and I can't quite get it. But I like this one.

It is DAP vinyl spackle.... I used an small sponge paintbrush and glopped it on.... then I go back with a smaller artist paintpaint and just "tap tap tap" with the paintbrush.... just make sure the spackle is about the same thickness as toothpaste... it makes it easier to work with....

Thanks! I put mine on with an old credit card, then was smooshing it with a hard bristle brush, but I'm not loving that texture, it seemed too small. I like the bigger spikes in yours. I'll keep playing with different brushes and see what I can do. Putting it on with a sponge brush is a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. I did try texturing with one, but didn't like that either. I'm thinking instead of smooshing, I'll try pulling it up, maybe that's what I'm looking for...

Thanks again!
