Started stuccoing and adding faux rocks

lotsoflove

Trying out the exterior. I'm using toilet paper to stucco the walls and then at the bottom, making faux stones. I have a lot of research to do on how to wash them so they look like real rocks.

Are you using plastic egg cartons for the rock? Most of us use the paper ones, which have a rougher texture. I'm not sure if acrylic craft paints will stick to the plastic. You may want to paint the entire area with gesso, which will stick to just about anything.

Hint: white gesso can be tinted with acrylics to a color that will pass for grout. If you paint the whole area that color and then come back and tint the rocks individually with thinned acrylics or chalks or pastels in eath tones, you won't have to grout it later.

I love the way your TP stucco has turned out. It's very realistic!
