It's Still Standing

rackey

My Garfield project suffered a setback two weeks ago when Hurricane Irene touched down in New Jersey. My friend Barbara, who was nice enough to let me bring the house in her basement, got three feet of water during the storm. Now one of the only things in her basement is my dollhouse, which is now sitting on a board supported by two road blocks or horses. That is its original stand taken from my basement. Unfornately, the coffee table had to go, but amazingly the house is still standing, as you can tell.

Keep up the good work! I know how it can go! The Garfield is a special house! My survived Katrina and is now making great progress! I love mine (although HUGE), but such a great house!

Hey, thanks for the kind words. If yours survived Katrina and mine survived Irene, then that great house must also be a strong house - or at least stronger than what one might think. - Do they sell miniature flood insurance policies?

Hey, you're the one with the recent update on that beautiful Garfield with the extended porch. When my friend Barbara saw your house, she told me we should reconsider doing the roof singles. If I decide to do that, it will be the last thing I do to the house, so it should be enjoyable. - Now, please, please, please can we start seeing some pictures on the inside of the house? I would love to see what you have in mind, even though I can spend all day just admiring the outside.

I am so sorry that your Garfield was damaged, I have been following your progress because I am also working on that house. I hope you can get started on it again soon. But Barbara comes first for sure!
