Replacement stairs - detail

otterine

Since I wasn't able to use the fancy wraparound stairs I wanted, I had to figure out a way to make a Houseworks straight, narrow staircase look interesting and perhaps a bit spooky. I took a page from the Newport book and added laser cut corners. I had to remove portions of the pieces to get them to fit together uniformly along the side of the stairs, but I think the result looks planned and natural.

Thanks! I'll likely finish the staircase up with standard turned spindles and railings. I'm considering a black marble floor for the foyer, leading into fancy wood floors in the parlor.
