Love the pattern. The color variation may not be as obvious to you once you have furniture in place. If you look at real wood floors, it has the same thing...but in mini it tends to capture your attention more. I think this is beautiful.

I'm hoping that will be the case when I put in furniture. And now that I have more coats of poly on it, the colors are starting to settle, and it's not as bad.

Problem is, I'm not much on random. I like everything to follow a pattern. I actually had no intention of doing this checkerboard, because I was afraid of the color thing like this and of it being too "busy". But I started laying the floor, and the next thing I knew I had this checkerboard thing going! Oh well!

It looks great.
