Exterior Timber Framing, Doors, and Windows

Chris P.

I was aiming for an earthy green for the exterior trim. I used oil paints and turpentine to make the stain, then went back in and added an oil paint patina to indicate age, and moss and lichen growth.

Thank you, Pat. I can't wait to get to the point I can put it on. I was originally planning to use white stucco on the exterior, but now after working on the interior, I am leaning toward a golden brown stucco. I'll have to try my trim out with a couple of color swatches to see what works. In a way, I am glad this has been taking so long, as I have changed my mind about quite a few things as the house has progressed.
