yes the darker version gives more detail, stripes etc but it also had a shine[ or maybe we just need to view the lighter one from a slightly different angle to see the details]

I like the darker one also. The details show up better. Either way he is really nice. The sculpt is wonderful.

Thank you! I like the darker version now, too. The shine was part of the reason I acetoned it all off. When I "edit" the current version, and all future ones, I'll definitely leave off the final varnish coat until I pick up some matte varnish. Oh, there will be more kitties! No such thing as a one-kitty house!
