"Ima was a beautiful fan dancer in the Peacock club in Chicago. She had various other talents too which made her very popular with the gentlemen of the day. Alvin Hutch saw her perform and his heart ached for her. After a steamy love affair, he asked her to be his wife. They were insanely happy for many years until Ima succumbed to typhoid fever. Alvin wanted to immortalize her, so he created this furniture piece with all of her favorite things. A bit macabre perhaps, but built with love."
