The autumn leaves effect is stunning - i love the whole scene but I'm so impressed with the landscaping.

Thanks Jo, Im so happy that you like it. It was very very challenging. Its our instinct to make the houses "pretty" with flowers,etc. I didnt want that,since its a late Fall scene,in fact I played around with the idea of a light snow fall on top of the leaves. Anyway the challenge came from trying to make it look harsh on the outside so that the pub looked cozier. But harsh can be very uninteresting,I was happy with the leaves. I used a lot of rail road material in this landscaping. It starts with a wooden board,then builders foam with the top scraped off,then built back up with some slight uneven terrain,paperclay over all then leaving the paths in place,adding the landscaping material. I outlined the paths with coffee grounds to define them a little more.
