Moving In!

shershe

The interior is done, so when my dollhouse dolls arrived I let them move in. :p

I've decided, after taking photos with the dolls in the house, that I want the roof to be removable. I'm going to use small slats of wood, attaching them to the ceiling side of the roof, placing them so that they will keep the roof panels from slipping off. I'll take lots of photos to show what I'm talking about. That way, I'll have the finished look of the dollhouse for display, but if I want to get a photo at a tricky angle, I can remove a panel if needed.

I bought the stain for the shingles today. I plan on gluing the shingles to brown paper templates that I made of each roof panel, applying the stain and then gluing the paper templates with shingles onto the roof panels. I believe I read about this method here on the Greenleaf forum.

I love those dolls! Where did you find them?? This house is just awesome. It is on my wish list. I have never seen anyone build one before.

Thanks! I am struggling with the roof at the moment. I decided I wanted to make it removable for photos.

The dolls are called PukiPuki. A company called Fairyland makes them. They are ball joint dolls, cast of resin and are really poseable. I actually bought and built the house for these dolls...along with another small doll I have. An American doll shop, Denver Doll Emporium, also carry these dolls.
