Cold clay dried over night

It has dried really hard, and is nearly transparent. I am hoping it will paint over ok. The pattern and the texture of the bricks are still there, just a little hard to see. Also it has stuck onto the wood really well, I brushed over a very light layer of wood glue before I put the clay down.
