Originally, the fireplace was the same color as the walls, but it seemed to disappear into the background. So I painted what I thought was a very light brown over it. That made it too dark. So I painted the cream over it again and sort of wiped it off. I think it looks like it's just been primed and is waiting to be painted. I also think it will probably stay that way!
