The walls are ready to go up.

From the beginning, I adopted Deb's method of finishing the interior walls before assembly-- different things work for different folks, and this works for me... Here I have the right rear wall, the right wall, the front entrance, and the left walls...

I agree that Deb's way seems the most workable but my only question is, what do you do if you are want to wire the house?

Hi wenlaine, that is a good question! I guess I would restructure a bit-- I would still finish as much as possible before assembly... One of these days I will tackle tape-wiring. I did a bit of round (cheapy) wiring for the Orchid-- haven't finished it yet-- but I routed the wire along edges and ceilings...

I pondered this very question last week while assembling the McKinley, I wanted to do as much as was possible before putting it together and since I've only worked with tape wiring, I couldn't see any other way than putting it together first. Your Pierce is amazing and you've done a beautiful job, I love your wallpaper choices too.

Thanks wenlaine! I have really enjoyed working on this-- I printed out all the wallpaper from Jennifer's Printables, except for the cream corduroy paper from Michael's, my one indulgence...

There will be much trim in this house-- this method of pre-papering the walls requires trim on every conceivable juncture, whereas if one papers after assembly, one could get away with leaving the corners, in my perception... I was on the east coast last week and had a chance to see the Lily again, which I "finished" in time to take east for the holidays-- I kind of wish I could get it back again and clean up some edges and corners that I somehow overlooked the first time around...!

Just an fyi here... I did my Garfield very much like this -- with the flooring and wallpaper done before moving on. However, I did install the tape wire all around, under the flooring (whatever it is) and it went up under the wallpaper on the first floor. That's pretty simple. I just used multiple rolls of tape wire (or cut the pieces as long as I thought I'd need) and let the ends hang off (or over the walls) until I had the wall in place. I'd put in the wallpaper while the wall itself was flat -- but left a flap so that when the wall was installed, I just ran the tapewire up under the paper, then glued the paper down. It was clumsy in place, but it works -- and I can't even imagine doing it another way -- and being able to reach everything! Oh, and very important -- I drew a diagram of the wiring so I have that to refer to if I need to go back (you can find that hint in that little Cir-kit booklet that comes with their wiring kits).
