Don't seem to be a way to edit this image description. My finger hit back page by mistake. Anyhow...I was thinking, would dipping the window in boiling water soften it but not melt it. Maybe a hairdryer? Heating pad? You can see by removing all the window staples, I would risk ruining the sheets of plastic. I did get measurements of windows in case I can find some new ones.  Once I added some test trim inside, it looked great.

Worked some on taking apart and cleaning what I could today.

I did some research on stone and grout.  Took a piece of old wood and made a test run using egg carton stones. For grout I tried 2 things.  Drywall compound and spackle.  The first , I just laid a bit of compound down and placed stone on it. The second, I glued stones then used spackle in between. Neither were great.  The spackle seemed better. I can easily glue the stone down on porch but the grout is the problem.  I wonder if I can glue the stones, then spray a protective over them. Once they dry , spread spackle over and wipe off the stones? Maybe even try a tile grout product?  More research and testing.any advice?

I've used both spackle and grout, I prefer using a non-sanded grout -- but either way I would seal my stones first with a matte sealer and then do the grouting. In regards to your window issue, I would avoid the boiling water -- you can actually find thin plastic and remake the windows. Going to message you with a link for the plastic I normally buy to re-do mine, it's a nice quality and fairly cheap. I've had luck painting it to re-do the panes/mullions with acrylic paint, though my new love of late is doing that with my Testors paint or even the Gallery Glass... all sorts of possibilities!  :)
