Is that supposed to be a fireplace under the stairs? Interesting. That bannister has a 1950s thing going on...wow.. you could totally go all technicolor 1950s Parent Trap/Hayley Mills with this house if you wanted to. But I can also see a true victorian in there. I just love it really - even if the inside needs to be de-moused. I'm so glad you rescued this house.

That red polka dot wall covering is actually some kind of vinyl. Red velveteen carpet and that faux stone...wow! It's almost like Elvis was living there. Or the Brady Bunch. Or something...Everything has been stripped away except the wallpaper, and that will have to wait for another day.
