MLI Designs

I haven't been working on my dollhouse as much as I would like. It's hard with summer obligations and gardening.

I did manage to try my hand at soldering. I just couldn't stand the front door. I love open and airy homes, in real life too. I grew up with a father who loved everything locked up and all shades and curtains drawn closed. I hate it now. I find it depressing to be in any space that is dark and closed.

So it was appropriate for me to have an open front door to see through.

You can see my iron work isn't perfect but not bad for first try. I will admit I spent many hours practicing because I didn't want to have to cut and bend the grill again.

I think it's pretty good for first time.

The door looks good and not bad at all for a tenth try let alone a first!

Best forget the garden and just concentrate on the house!

Your door looks beautiful! I know what you mean about needing a house that's open and airy. I couldn't stand to live in a dark, closed up house either!

You should be very proud of your door and its your first go at it! We were watching a show last week and I saw a door exactly like this, just cant remember what show or movie that was.

@Debora59 when we were building our home I wanted a door like this in the worst way but we were at the very limit of our budget. They are soooooooo expensive and we just couldn't/didn't want to spend anymore. So of course all the things I wanted when building will be in my dollhouses. Does anyone else here do that too?

That's what I always tell people when they look at the houses in my shop. I can have any kind of a house I want, and decorate it as lavishly as I want. I can also have many different styles of houses without winning the powerball!!!
